We are ESN INHolland Diemen! We are happy to be alongside our international students and facilitate networking, activities and advice during their stay in Amsterdam! We organise cultural, sport and social activities for exchange students in Amsterdam.
We are located in Diemen – a town in the urban area of Amsterdam, situated between Amsterdam-Oost, Ouder-Amstel, Amsterdam-Zuidoost and Muiden. The university campus in Diemen-Zuid is a lovely spot next to the INHolland University of Applied Sciences, where you can find restaurants, a supermarket, a gym and much more! There are a few student buildings in the area, so there’s always something going on. Diemen-Zuid is very well connected to the city centre. The heart of the city centre can be reached within 20 minutes by metro or train. In
addition, the bike-friendly infrastructure with established bike paths allows students to reach Amsterdam by cycling in about 30 min.
Board 2019/2020: We are a team of positive and motivated volunteers willing to support the big ESN family! We aim to provide the exchange students from our own university an experience to remember, as well as to connect to other ESN sections on a national level. We all have different cultural backgrounds and our past experiences abroad make us culturally aware. We all have international experiences and gained insights about student life in a foreign country by attending study programs in Australia, France, Spain, Mexico, The United States and more. We are happy to share our expertise with each other and to help students in the Netherlands feel the way we did! We know that a semester abroad is an unforgettable moment in life and we want our students to enjoy it to the fullest.
However, sometimes it can be challenging too so we try to help our students deal with life abroad and the challenges that come with it from living far away from your parents, dealing with registration forms or simply finding friends and social contacts in the new place. Our biggest reward as a team is to meet other international people and create lifelong friendships even though our exchange programs are over. As well as to attend conferences or simply chat with other sections, have fun and practice our organisational and communication skills. Nevertheless we are a small board, our university attracts students from all around Europe and the world, for the courses of International Business Innovation, Tourism Management, Communication, Mathematical Engineering, Dental Hygiene and Leisure Management.
